telemarketer calling with my mastercard number, offering free gift card?
i keep getting these calls, all beginning the same way:
are you so-and-so? we would like to thank you for being a loyal mastercard user and offer you a free $ 25 gift card.
they then proceed to tell me my card will be charged a one-time fee for some trial membership, and so on.
i took the bait once, got my membership package to something i didn’t need, cancelled it, read the fine print and found out i had to be a member for a certain amount of time to claim the free gift card. oh well. i should have known better.
ANYWAY. now, i try to decline everytime one of these people call — i say they have the wrong number, etc. — but some of them get pretty pushy. one called back and hung up on me several times.
i’m getting tired of this. i am on the do-not-call registry, and i know now not to put my phone number on any online forms, but how did this happen in the first place? who gave them my mastercard number and contact details? what can i do to stop these calls??

usually you can call the telemarketing company or the company they are soliciting for and demand that you be on their no call list….you give consent to share your information so easily you are not aware like opening a bank account they ask you if you are fine with them marketing your information..it is an option ..in canada it is mandatory for bankers to ask this question and i know of some stores if you shop there theyshare you card number and info too….you have to out in some time to read those fine print …this is something we might never be able to get rid of: telemarketing!

Possible free tarot reading or spiritual guidance?
Hello. I have a situation that’s been really bothering me….and since it’s causing me so much anxiety, I would really appreciate any help or guidance that any one of you talented folks could possibly provide. I know, finding some help for free is really rare, but I’m hoping that one of you will understand my point of view.
I met this waiter on a cruise I went on about a month ago. We really hit it off, and well, we went out on a date in late July. The date went really well….and when we were departing he told me that he was going home to Serbia for 2 months, but that when he returns to LA, he really wants to see me. He told me to e-mail him.
So, that night, I went home and did just that.
He has yet to respond.
I’m trying to be patient because I understand his situation. If I was away from the people I loved for almost a year, I would be totally ignoring everything else but the time i was spending with my family. So, I decided to wait and wait…..
But, I’m really tempted to send him another e-mail.
So, what should I do? send him another e-mail? continue to be patient? or forget him?
do you see an e-mail from him heading my direction?
and if there is an e-mail, when should I possibly expect it?
and lastly…..could you pull just a general card of advice for me?

How long has it been since he responded. If it’s only been a few weeks, you might do well to think that he doesn’t have internet access at this time. Maybe he has not access to a computer. If it has been over a month, he still may not been close to a computer. If 2 months go by, then I would shoot him an e-mail just inquiring how he is doing and if he plans to contact you back. If you hear nothing after that, I would leave it be. Also remember a lot can happen in 2 months for both of you. Don’t put all your eggs in this basket, so to speak. We are currently going through a mercury retrograde, so I expect you will see him again in the future. You never know what can or will happen.
edit: So next week will be a month. I would give it a week past a month and if you haven’t heard from him then I would decide whether or not you will e-mail again or move on. Like I said, I know you will see him again.
My dad recived a post card from Bank of America saying he was granted a free cruise. READ DETAILS….?
They said he was givin this cruise because of Outstounding credit history, which is true his credit score is 832. But is this for real, on the back of the postcard in small print is said” THIS IS NOT A TIMESHARE SILISOTATION, some restrictions may apply”

In my experience most of this are hoaxes, he conctact or send his information and soon he gets fruadulent charges. My sugestion is to go to any branch of the bank of america and veryfay there. if this is a true offering by the bank of america they will honor and will explain the conditions.
